You can't make it a short time ago "go away" and you absolutely shouldn't shave it! If it is poison ivy it WILL itch! Shaving will just spread it. Try getting Aveno oatmeal tub. Take a bath w/it and use the sticky parts as a paste on the unthinking. It will help dry it out faster and disappear quicker. If this doesn't work it may be some other type of over-hasty. But Aveno works for most average allergic rashes.
