How do I return with rid of this patch of dry skin???

I have a patch of dry skin inside the top factor of my ear. I've had it for years, and it will not restore to health! I pick the dry skin off every daytime just so general public don't see it sticking out of my ear, but I have gone weeks in need picking it to see if it would heal and it still wouldn't. I've tried mousturizers and even cortizone cream, but none have worked. Any ideas what I might try or what this could be?How do I return with rid of this patch of dry skin???
