Has anyone have a subtotal colectomy?

I have be diagnosed with chronic constipation motility disorder and 2 doctors enjoy now advise me to consider having a sub-total colectomy. Not sure if this is the answer and do not know where on earth to turn. Can anyone help me?Has anyone have a subtotal colectomy?
i'm a surgical intern.
funny entity, i scrubbed within on one today.
a subtotal colectomy is a general occupancy for removing part of a diseased colon.
this is your third consulation. your colon is a key organ, a diseased colon is like living next to half a lung. it's highly important to enjoy the disease removed. find a surgeon who will do this laparoscopically. it cuts recovery contained by half. you will requirement to stay in the hospital for a minimum of four days.. plenty time for the doctor to make sure that your colon is working properly. yes, the operation will hold a resection which is attaching the rectum to the other end of the colon.
i hope you seriously consider an operation.
best of luck~
Surgical Procedures: Subtotal Colectomy

Subtotal Colectomy surgery involves the removal of a module of the colon (this procedure is more extensive and involves the removal of more of the colon than "resection" surgery). During Subtotal Colectomy surgery, an incision is made in the belly and the diseased portion of the colon is identified and removed. Once a diseased segment of the colon is removed, the two ends are reconnected, and this connection is call an "anastomosis".
